The Main Project Management Processes

Project management processes entail series of tasks to be done. First of the many is the initiation.  The pre-sale is set to identify all the possible activities to be included in the process. More so, all the elements of the project must then be communicated to its stakeholders. It also serves as a gathering activity of the requirements and assessing the eligibility and ability of the provider to complete the whole process given the time frame. Next is the definition and planning. All plans must be put into writing and outlining the tasks, activities and the responsibilities to be fulfilled. During this stage, a look into the budget, schedule and determining the resources are needed.

Then project launch or execution takes place. This is when all the tasks are being distributed to each department down to its people. It is also the best time to gather more information about the project. This may require monitoring on the part of the management, or of the client to ensure that the delegated tasks are done properly. Another process is control and validation. The managers may compare the day to day progress of the entire project compared to the actual plan. Some schedules may be adjusted, and some uncertainties may arise and there is a need to attend to it. A quality assurance team may be tapped to check the deliveries to validate the process undertaken. Last stage is the closeout and evaluation, after the entire process had completed and a product has been delivered, an evaluation is necessary to highlight the success or learning form the mistakes of the undertaken activity.

The criteria set by the client have to be achieved and make sure that the product will be paid by the customer. Should there be lapses in the project processes, these have to be looked upon and learn from it. Being able to identify as to where it went wrong will help the company avoid the same mistake when having the project management processes in the future.
